Discovering fanfiction through The X-Files

Back in my Livejournal days I read a lot of fanfiction.

Are you still with me?

Not only did I discover some amazing fan writers but I also read a lot of stories that were so badly written that they were utterly hilarious.

The bad fanfiction I found was written by people who a) couldn't spellcheck, b) embraced every romantic cliché known to mankind, c) liked to write a lot, and d) took it all very very seriously.

5 things I won't do at BlogCamp Birmingham

On Saturday I'll be one of a select hoard of bloggers learning and eating cake at BlogCamp Birmingham. As with most events I go to, I should remind myself what not to do before I get there...

Hello BlogCampers!

I'm going to BlogCamp next month and thought I should take the time to introduce myself to the other lovely people attending. I hope this photo doesn't scare any of them.

This one time at BlogCamp...

Blogger extraordinaire Sally Whittle and communications company Talk Talk brought together about 70 bloggers in central London last week for the first Tots100 BlogCamp.

To be honest, I expected BlogCamp to be a strange place full of mummy bloggers I'd have nothing in common with. I intended to sit quietly in a corner, take a few notes and then dive out the door in time to catch my train home. You'll be pleased to know this wasn't what happened.
