Chef was a great way to start the festival, witty and charming with the kind of on-screen chemistry among the cast that many other films can only dream of. Include a brief appearance by Robert Downey Jr that almost steals the film, as he usually does, and you have a winner.

This film is a mashup of food, family and the pursuit of happiness that turns into a road trip across America fuelled by social media. It's a delight to watch and will absolutely make you hungry for a cubanos (cuban sandwich). Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to go and grab one from the food truck they'd brought with them to the opening night of the festival.
Catch this film if you can. And maybe read the Guardian review too.
